Angel Tree

The Angel Tree is placed inside the parish narthex during Advent.  The Angel Tree allows parishioners to pick gifts to buy for children in specific age groups, gender, and interests that will help provide much needed clothing, gifts, and other wished-for tors to Rome and Floyd County's neediest children.

Meals on Wheels

Mission to Mexico

St. Mary’s supports various missionary activities in the state of Tlaxcala, Mexico with the Missionary Sisters. The CYO visits for experience, sharing and cultural exchange.

Prison Ministry

Parishioners travel to Hays State Prison in Summerville each week on Monday and Thursday to offer spiritual guidance, adoration, and faith formation to adult male inmates sentenced to life in prison.  Frank Benavidez and his wife take care of the annex at Hays.  They are from St. Clement's in Calhoun. Frank is fluent in Spanish. They meet on Mondays at 2:00 pm.

Community Kitchen

Our Parish provides volunteers and financial assistance to the community supported Soup Kitchen housed at the Community Kitchen on North Broad.  Volunteers are always needed.

*St. Mary's encourages personal involvement in the Community Life Ministries and also provides annual financial support to these ministries through the monthly collections for the poor.
